It's a boy!

So you've all heard by now that the littlest Febus is a boy, acording to the ultrasound. The technition said the baby was very 'sono-genic' and everything looked good. He is very healthy, and a bit on the big side. Which will not surprise anyone who has seen me lately. I'll have to have jeremy get a profile photo for those of you who have not. We are pretty excited. I cannot believe that I am already more than halfway through with being pregnant!

The Kitchen is Finished!

...Well almost finished. There seems to be some kind of issue with the floor, but that's a long and not interesting story.

If anyone reading this is contemplating a kitchen remodel while pregnant, I would strongly recommend against it. At first I thought it would be perfect timing because the last pregnancy the first trimester I didn't even want to be anywhere near the kitchen. So I thought this would be a perfect time to be eating out all the time. Kind of, but not worth the chaos times the not feeling so good.

Gwyneth wants to know what has happened to the 'noisy guys'. I think she thought they were a new part of our house. But she also thinks that 'kitchen, so nice' (she listens to everything everyone says now, so watch out).


We are mostly completely satisfied with our new kitchen, though there are a few things that did not turn out exactly the way we thought/hoped. I do have to say that I am glad that we didn't try the do-it-mostly-ourselves-home-depot route. The professionals ran into enough snags, that I can't imagine what we would have done. And can I say that I have MISSED having a dishwasher for the last six months.

My favorite part is the granite work station right next to the refrigerator. It is so nice to have plenty of room for the food prep part of the cooking. The pictures keep going and going so you will see what I am talking about.

Now onto more baby news: We heard the heartbeat for the second time last week. That is always amazing and mysterious. We will find out the gender at the end of the month so check back in after July 29th.

Christmas Baby

Okay, the pictures have nothing to do with the post, but I promised the Grandparents cute pictures of Gwyneth, and well, there's not a lot to take picture of with the lil' babe yet. So here's Gwyneth at our friends the Richards House having BLAST on their trampoline.

So the news is that we had our first appointment with the doctor and the official due date for FB2 (Febus Baby #2) is December 12th. Also we will be at the same hospital that Gwyneth was born at (University of Washington). Only this time we will start out there. There is a group of midwives that work together there and I really enjoyed meeting a couple of them. Alright, that's it for now. I now remember why there is so little written in the aforementioned journal during the first trimester. I am soooooooooooooo tired.

Surprise!

As a reward for your kind interest in our blog, you are now one of the first to get the news...as Gwyneth has told you above, we're pregnant! We're very excited, as you can imagine. But it's still pretty early, so until we give you the green light, keep this under wraps for us, okay? When we found out about Gwyneth I went out and bought a journal that we used during the pregnancy to talk about our experience and our hopes and dreams for her. We continued writing in it after she was born, telling the funny stories and making observations about her. Others I knew kept blogs to inform the family of the same things, but I was barely writing in her journal as much as I wanted, so doing both was just out of the question. So here comes #2 and I'm going to catch up with the technology and use this blog as a similar type journal, now combining the two. Since, as I said, I can't do both, this blog will be slightly personal, and probably WAY more detailed than what you need to keep up with us as a family. However, I will be posting pictures of Gwyneth often, so we know there are those out there who will be enticed to visit the blog occasionally for that alone. It's up to you.
